As a CNC machinist, you must inspect your parts to ensure they are within the required tolerance. In this simulator, you will act as the Quality Control (QC) inspector.
Your Task:
Look at the Target Dimension and Tolerance at the top of the screen.
Click MEASURE PART. The micrometer will close onto the part.
Read the scale on the Zoom Canvas.
If the actual reading falls within the target tolerance, click IN TOLERANCE.
If it is out of bounds, click OUT OF TOLERANCE.
How to read Metric (0.01mm)
The sleeve has upper lines (1.0mm) and lower lines (0.5mm).
The rotating thimble has 50 lines (each is 0.01mm).
Add the last visible sleeve line to the thimble line that lines up with the center datum.
How to read Imperial (0.001")
The sleeve has large numbers (0.100") and smaller subdivisions (0.025").
The rotating thimble has 25 lines (each is 0.001").
Add the last visible sleeve line (e.g. 0.200 + 0.050) to the thimble line.
