How to Use the Simulator

What is Part Zero?

In CNC machining, G54 (Part Zero) is the reference point that tells the machine where your raw material is located on the table. Without it, the machine doesn't know where to start cutting. You use an edge finder (probe) to locate the physical edges of the part and set the X, Y, and Z origins (0,0,0).

Step-by-step Instructions:

  1. Select an Axis: Press X, Y, or Z on the pendant to choose which direction you want to move.
  2. Choose Increment: Select .1 for fast moving, or .001/.0001 for precision positioning.
  3. Jog to the Part: Scroll or drag the handwheel to move the probe towards the target face (Red for X, Green for Y, Blue for Z).
  4. Find the Edge: Watch the red dial indicator. Stop exactly when the needle points straight down to zero.
  5. Set Zero: Click the green "PART ZERO SET" button. Repeat for all three axes.
  6. Don't Crash: If you push the probe too far into the part, it will break!
